Amid growing outrage over Trayvon Martin’s death, the Sanford city council passed a vote of “no confidence” in Police Chief Bill Lee on Wednesday for his handling of the investigation.
msnbc’s Lawrence O’Donnell asked Sandford city manager Norton Bonaparte Jr. point blank if he plans to fire him.
Bonaparte said suspending chief Lee is one of the “options” for him “to consider.” Bonaparte confirmed he has the ability to fire the police chief at any time. And pressure is mounting from the public to get rid of Lee and arrest shooter George Zimmerman, who claimed self defense in the shooting under Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law.
