After a fourth-place finish in Iowa, Newt Gingrich spent most of Wednesday trying to get his campaign back on track trash talking rival Mitt Romney. Gingrich got hit with an onslaught of negative ads in Iowa, courtesy of Team Romney and Team Paul, that contributed to a decline in polls numbers.
The former House Speaker is not going down quietly. If he does go down, he’s going to try to take the “confused” Willard with him.
“There is an enormous difference between somebody who has spent their entire career as a Reagan conservative and somebody who has spent their entire career as a Massachusetts moderate,” Gingrich said at Belknap Mills in New Hampshire, according to NBC News. “I think in terms of beating Obama, having a clearly defined conservative is vastly more likely to win than having somebody who’s confused.”
To hammer home his points, the candidate took out a full-page ad in New Hampshire’s Union-Leader newspaper comparing the “bold Reagan conservative” (a.k.a. him) with “timid Massachusetts moderate” Romney.
