Bad news Sarah Palin, Americans may not be on board with the “War on Christmas” idea.
According to a new poll by Public Policy Polling, 47% of Americans don’t believe there is a “War on Christmas”–but that isn’t stopping many conservatives.

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) continues to fuel the debate with its “I’m not afraid to say Merry Christmas” t-shirt, which can be found in their online store. They’resold out of their “Liberals say Happy Holidays” t-shirts.
Megyn Kelly made herself a center of controversy when she said on her show “The Kelly File” that “Santa just is white” and “Jesus was a white man too.” Her comment spurred reaction from both sides, with the right wing saying questions about Santa’s race are part of the “War on Christmas” that needs to be stopped.
Bill O’Reilly proclaimed this week, “It isn’t a mythical war on Christmas. It’s real and we just won.” As Sarah Palin continues to fuel debate with her new book, “Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas.” She urges everyone to push back on store owners who wish their customers “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas.” Hate to disappoint Sarah Palin, but a recent Pew Poll finds 46% of Americans don’t care what phrase store owners use. But when the polling is broken down by party, there is a significant split: 63% of Republicans prefer “Merry Christmas” and only 32% say it “doesn’t matter” what holiday phrase is used. Among Democrats, 28% prefer “Merry Christmas” and 55% say what phrase someone uses “doesn’t matter.”
