* In Ukraine: “Russian glide bombs and ballistic missiles struck a Ukrainian prison and a medical facility overnight as Russia’s relentless strikes on civilian areas killed at least 22 people across the country, officials said Tuesday, despite President Donald Trump’s threat to soon punish Russia with sanctions and tariffs unless it stops.”
* The latest on the mass shooting in New York City: “The gunman who killed four people in a corporate office building in New York City on Monday before taking his own life appeared to target the National Football League headquarters inside the high-rise, the city’s mayor said Tuesday.”
* The latest on the mass shooting in Reno: “A gunman fatally shot three people outside a Reno, Nevada, hotel and casino and wounded others Monday before police shot him, authorities said.
* Fresh evidence of Trump pushing prices higher: “Procter & Gamble on Tuesday forecast annual results largely below estimates and said it would raise prices on some products in the U.S., a day after naming insider Shailesh Jejurikar as CEO to steer it through tariff uncertainty.”
* Remember when Trump said the North Korean nuclear threat was over? “North Korea said Tuesday that while the relationship between its leader Kim Jong Un and President Donald Trump is ‘not bad,’ the United States must accept the isolated country as a nuclear weapons state. Dismissing the idea of further talks on denuclearization, Kim’s powerful sister said that reality has changed since Trump’s first term in office.”
* I can think of so many ways in which this will likely go badly: “The Trump administration just announced workplace rules that stand to make it easier for federal employees to pressure their colleagues to convert to their religion of choice..” * Another case worth watching: “A coalition of 20 state attorneys general filed a lawsuit Monday challenging the Trump administration’s demand that their states turn over personal data of people enrolled in a federally funded food assistance program, fearing the information will be used to aid mass deportations.” * Team Trump apparently isn’t done targeting Judge Boasberg: “The Justice Department filed a complaint Monday alleging misconduct by a federal judge overseeing several cases involving the Trump administration, including a challenge to the legality of deportation flights to El Salvador in March. The complaint against James Boasberg, the chief U.S. district judge in Washington, D.C., which was filed by Attorney General Pam Bondi’s chief of staff, Chad Mizelle, alleges that Boasberg made improper comments during a judicial conference in March.” See you tomorrow.
