Congressman Thaddeus McCotter (R-Michigan) has resigned. In May, McCotter failed spectacularly to qualify for the Republican primary in his district by turning in only a fraction of the required valid signatures along with a forest of fraudulent ones. He dropped out of the race and has asked the state to investigate what went wrong.
You can read McCotter’s full statement about resigning on his Facebook page. Your challenge is to diagram just this one McCotter sentence:
“Thus, acutely aware one cannot rebuild their hearth of home amongst the ruins of their U.S. House office, for the sake of my loved ones I must ‘strike another match, go start anew’ by embracing the promotion back from public servant to sovereign citizen.”
