The Huffington Post’s Jon Ward just interviewed The Donald, hours before he hosts a massive Las Vegas fundraiser for Romney. Ward tweets:
Trump said Romney campaign has not asked him to not talk about birther issue: “They haven’t done that.”
The Obama campaign definitely sees a political opportunity though. “If Mitt Romney lacks the backbone to stand up to a charlatan like Donald Trump because he’s so concerned about lining his campaign’s pockets, what does that say about the kind of president he would be,?” a spokeswoman asked earlier Tuesday.
