1. Bobbi Kristina Brown died last night at the age of 22. Brown was the only daughter of legendary singers Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown. Five months ago, Brown was found unconscious in a bathtub in her home, and has been hospitalized ever since. Her family said she suffered irreversible brain damage.
2. Vice President Joe Biden and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo are expected to make a major infrastructure announcement today in New York City. The governor’s office has not given any details on what the announcement will be.
3. New York magazine released their latest cover story, which features photographs of 35 women who have accused Bill Cosby of sexual assault. The story features interviews with all 35 women. Shortly after the story went up on New York’s website, the site went down and was inaccessible to most visitors. It appears to be the work of a hacker who says his motivations had nothing to do with the Cosby story.
4. President Obama, who is currently on a trip to Africa, addressed Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee’s comments that the Iran deal was akin to the Holocaust, saying his comment “would be considered ridiculous if it wasn’t so sad,” and suggesting that perhaps it was an effort by the former Arkansas governor to “push Mr. Trump out of the headlines.”
5. America’s youngest convicted murderers are being released from prison. Siblings Curtis and Catherine Jones were 12 and 13 years old, respectively, when they confessed to the murder of their father’s live-in girlfriend. They were the youngest children ever to be charged as adults for first-degree murder. Now, 16 years later, they are being released from prison at the ages of 29 and 30.
