Sen. Rand Paul has been struggling to gain traction with voters throughout this campaign season, so he’s embracing unconventional methods — such as animated cartoons — to set himself apart from the GOP pack.
In a new attack ad aimed at 2016 front-runner Sen. Ted Cruz, two crudely drawn characters with inexplicable robotic British accents take the the Texas lawmaker to task for accepting millions of dollars in donations from Wall Street firms like Goldman Sachs and for not voting for legislation that would have audited the Federal Reserve, which has long been a passion project of Sen. Paul’s.
“I hear good things about the Rand Paul, he is for individual liberty, the free market and auditing the Fed,” says the male cartoon character in the video when asked who is the “real” grassroots candidate.
“I like this Rand Paul, and his hair,” replies the female character.
