Barack Obama will meet with U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch Monday to discuss plans for the introduction of gun controls, the president announced in his weekly address.
“I get too many letters from parents, and teachers, and kids, to sit around and do nothing,” he said, adding that tackling the U.S. epidemic of gun violence was “one piece of unfinished business.”

It comes after Lynch told NBC’s “Meet The Pres”s last month that Obama would specifically call on Congress to review certain gun control measures, especially in the wake of the San Bernardino, California, massacre.
“A few months ago, I directed my team at the White House to look into any new actions I can take to help reduce gun violence,” Obama said in his address. “On Monday, I’ll meet with our Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, to discuss our options.”
