Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and New Hampshire have all been called for President Obama. But the winner of pivotal Ohio remains unknown. So what can we tell from the partials results so far?
Overall, Obama leads in Ohio by 50-48, with 62% reported. But as msnbc’s Chuck Todd explained moments ago, hundreds of thousands of votes from the Democratic strongholds of Cuyahoga have not yet been reported.
“There’s a lot of blue areas that haven’t come in,” Todd said.
And as we explained earlier today, one key swing county is Hamilton, which contains Cincinnati and its suburban counties. And currently, with 18% of the county’s precincts having reported, Obama leads by 56-43%. that’s even better than he did in the county in 2008, when he beat John McCain by 52-47. Of course, we don’t know which precincts are still outstanding, so it’s too know for sure how well Obama has done in Hamilton. But the early signs looks good.
