Florida House candidate Alex Sink will get some fundraising help from Vice President Joe Biden in her effort to win a seat in a crucial swing district for Democrats.
Biden’s office confirmed to the Washington Post on Wednesday that the Vice President will attend an event for Sink next week. This is the first time the White House has waded into the special election to succeed long-time Republican Rep. C.W. Bill Young, who died last year.
Sink already has a big money advantage over her Republican opponent David Jolly; the former state chief financial officer reported in January that she had raised $1.1 million for her campaign, while Jolly only reported $338,000.
