• Michigan: Democrats expanded their 4-3 majority to 5-2, with Democrats winning both races.
• Ohio: Republicans expanded their 4-3 majority to 6-1, with Republicans winning all three races.
• Arizona: Voters declined to oust two justices who voted for the state’s abortion ban.
• Florida: Voters declined to oust two justices appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican.
• North Carolina: The right-wing court’s 5-2 majority would expand if Democratic Justice Allison Riggs is defeated. That close race has not been called by NBC News and could be headed for a recount.
• Alabama: In the chief justice contest, Republican nominee Sarah Stewart, who as an associate justice concurred with the Alabama Supreme Court’s controversial IVF ruling, defeated the Democratic challenger.
