House Speaker John Boehner called on President Obama to release classified emails pertaining to the administration’s response to the attacks on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya, last fall.
“Somebody clearly decided they didn’t like the references to Islamic terrorism, and made changes in this document. The American people deserve the truth. And they will get the truth,” Boehner said during a Thursday press conference on Capitol Hill.
Four Americans lost their lives in the September 11, 2012, attacks, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens. The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform heard testimony from three State Department officials Wednesday, rekindling a nearly eight-month-old political battle.
