President Obama, like all Democrats, is committed to the long term survival of Medicare “as we know it.” But, the Romney campaign points to the $500 billion in cost-cutting that President Obama and the Democrats have done as evidence that they are trying to “end medicare as we know it.”Mitt Romney has signed onto a Medicare plan, advanced by Congressman Paul Ryan that turns it into a voucher program where the government gives you a voucher and wishes you luck in the health care market place. As Romney’s handlers now know, their embrace of the “Ryan plan” will destroy the Romney campaign in a general election against President Obama, especially in Florida.
