The initial procedural vote on the Democratic-backed guns legislation is underway while the Gang of Eight bipartisan group of senators continues to fine-tune its immigration reform legislation that is expected to be released in the next few days. According to the new NBC News/WSJ poll, 64% of participants say they favor a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants. The poll also shows a positive outlook on gun control — 55% want stricter laws covering the sale of firearms. However, a wider gap exists between political parties on gun control — 82% of Democrats favor stricter gun laws, while just 27% of Republicans do.
