Newt Gingrich thinks most Blacks and Latinos don’t understand the value of entrepreneurship.
Don’t worry, he’s not racist. He thinks most Asians do.
In 1993, as Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich’s handwritten speech notes read, “For poor minorities, entrepreneurship in small business is the key to future wealth. This is understood thoroughly by most of the Asians, partially by Latinos, and to a tragically small degree by much of the American black community.”
The line was pulled before he made the speech but it shows how the GOP candidate views poor Blacks and Latinos in this country.
Although his 2012 campaign declined to comment on the remarks, Newt Gingrich has a record of race-baiting just over the past few months. He’s said he’d go in front of the NAACP and tell Black people to demand paychecks not food stamps, he routinely calls the first Black President, “the most effective food stamp President in history,” and his let the “poor” kids clean the schools comment is a poorly coded-word for intercity African-Americans and Latinos. This won’t be the last time we hear race-baiting from Gingrich. After all he doesn’t think he’s doing anything wrong.
