The father of the man who and killed Trayvon Martin says Martin threated to kill his son.
In an interview with the Fox affiliate in Orlando, Robert Zimmerman, the father of George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch volunteer who shot the unarmed black teenager, says Martin confronted his son.
“Trayvon Martin got on top of him and started beating him in his face, in his nose, hitting his head on the concrete,” said Robert Zimmerman, 64.
“Trayvon Martin said something to the effect of ‘you’re going to die now’ or ‘you’re gonna die tonight’ — something to that effect,” Robert Zimmerman continued. “He continued to beat George, and at some point George pulled his pistol and did what he did.”
George Zimmerman, however, appeared uninjured in a police surveillance video taken in the Sanford police station after Martin was shot dead. Robert Zimmerman says he has not seen the video, but admits his son was “not given any medical attention.”
