Bartlet is back to being Bartlet- and this time he is joined by his executive branch to help promote an important day.
“Big Block of Cheese Day,” a day strangely titled but one where White House staffers answer Americans’ question on various issues, is coming back, the White House announced Friday through a You Tube video.
“We called because we wanted to talk to you about Big Block of Cheese Day,” Bradley Whiteford said to Earnest.
The historical tradition is a nod to President Andrew Jackson who, in 1837, invited the public to the White House to enjoy a 1,400 pound block of cheese. The tradition was brought back to life during the first season of The West Wing.
Cast members such as Allison Janney, Richard Schiff, Dule Hill, Mary McCormack and President Bartlett himself, Martin Sheen, make appearances in the new video, which shows the the West Wing cast calling White House press secretary Josh Earnest, urging him to announce a second annual “Big Block of Cheese Day” and making corny cheese jokes in the process.
“We want it to be feta than last year” Allison Janney said.
