Did you know that if you calculate Congress’ wage it comes out to $70 an hour? That’s $62.75 higher than the national minimum wage.
Next Thursday, fast food workers nationwide are planning a national strike to call for the minimum wage to be raised to $15 an hour. “Obviously we should all aspire for people to make more than minimum wage–that’s the American dream,” Cycle co-host Abby Huntsman said on Tuesday’s show. “But these companies would say that’s capitalism, that’s supply and demand. If you are going to raise the minimum wage we’re just going to hire fewer people and that ultimately is not good for the economy.”
