Instagram is turning 3 on Sunday!
The photo app has become the place of #selfies, news sharing, and a way for public figures like first lady Michelle Obama, to show they really are just like us.
The picture sharing site continues to boast big numbers — with over 150 million active users every month, about 55 million photos shared daily, and a whopping 1.2 billion likes per day.
“We set out to create an app that would make people love sharing their photos with other people and it tuned into something much larger than we could have ever expected,” Instagram CEO and co-creater Kevin Systrom said on Friday’s Today Show.
