Today’s installment of campaign-related news items that won’t necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:
* The House Majority PAC, which hopes to elect House Democrats, is airing this new spot in House Speaker John Boehner’s Ohio congressional district. In fact, the spot reportedly aired yesterday during the NFL game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the New England Patriots.
* In a sign of the times, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) campaigned in Virginia yesterday in support of Ken Cuccinelli’s (R) gubernatorial campaign, but if you’re looking for photographs of the two far-right politicians together, you won’t find any. Cuccinelli “avoided being photographed with Ted Cruz at a gala they headlined” on Saturday, even leaving the event before Cruz rose to speak.
* In Colorado, the NRA and its allies failed in their effort to recall Democratic state Sen. Evie Hudak earlier this year, but right-wing activists are still trying, and a new signature-collection process is underway.
