Today’s installment of campaign-related news items from across the country.
* With 32 days remaining before Georgia’s U.S. Senate runoff elections, Democrats are focusing the bulk of their attention on Republican Sens. David Perdue’s and Kelly Loeffler’s highly controversial financial portfolios. “The dam is just beginning to break and we plan to fully expose their unethical and potentially illegal behavior in the weeks ahead,” J.B. Poersch, president of Senate Majority PAC, told Politico. “Georgians simply can’t trust David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler when they’re knee-deep in the swamp and profiting at their expense.”
* On a related note, David Perdue still lacks the courage to acknowledge Joe Biden’s victory in public, but in a private video meeting this week, the Georgia Republican quietly acknowledged Donald Trump’s defeat to members of the Republican Jewish Coalition.
* Speaking of Georgia, in a new legal filing, former Trump lawyer Sidney Powell accuses Dominion voting machines of flipping votes from Biden to Trump — which means she thinks Trump received votes he didn’t deserve. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution‘s Greg Bluestein talked to a GOP attorney who described Powell’s filing as an “epic fail.”
* Georgians who haven’t yet registered to vote ahead of the Jan. 5 runoffs have until Monday to do so.
