McQueen, the cannibalistic caterpillar is no more. McQueen now has a chance to shed its* unsavory past along with its skin, and will spend some time in quiet contemplation of its sins. In a couple of weeks McQueen will emerge as a gorgeous–and vegetarian–butterfly. Garnish is a day or so behind, still chomping away on milkweed and waiting its turn.
*boy? girl? We won’t know until McQueen the butterly hatches. If McQueen has telltale spots on his wings he’s a boy. If she doesn’t, she’s a girl.
