Tuesday’s expected roll out of a bipartisan bill to overhaul the nation’s immigration policy was postponed due to the tragedy in Boston, according to a Democratic Senate aide. The legislation, which appropriates up to $6.5 billion for border security and offers an eventual path to citizenship, will still be filed in the Senate later in the day.
New York Senator Chuck Schumer and Arizona Senator John McCain still plan to meet with the president Tuesday to brief him on the plan, the aide told NBC News.
