Today President Obama will follow the advice he’s given to thousands of supporters at campaign rallies: vote early. Following stops in Florida and Virginia, the president will cast his ballot in Chicago Thursday evening, becoming the first sitting president to vote early.
Early voting could be the Obama campaign’s ace in the hole. A new Time poll from Ohio showed early voters are breaking for the president 2-to-1. Molly Ball reports in The Atlantic that as of Monday, Democrats hold early voting leads in four of five key swing states. Ball writes: “Forget the polls, the debates, the last-minute ads and volleys of insults. This is how the Obama campaign plans to win the election.”
After voting in Chicago the president will continue on to a campaign rally in Cleveland. You can be sure that during that speech, any grumblings about Gov. Mitt Romney in the crowd will be met with one of the president’s most popular stump lines lately: “Don’t boo, vote.”
