A Florida jury’s not-guilty verdict in the George Zimmerman trial triggered emotionally fraught reactions across the country over the death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
Zimmerman, 29, had pleaded not guilty and said he was acting in self-defense when he shot the unarmed Martin in the chest during an altercation in a gated community of Sanford, Fla., on Feb. 26, 2012.
