With just one day before New Jersey’s gubernatorial race, Gov. Chris Christie is sitting pretty.
A Quinnipiac University poll released Monday shows Christie leads his Democratic opponent Sen. Barbara Buono by 33 points, with 64% to 31%.
He gained popularity over his deep blue state’s Democratic voters in his leadership after Hurricane Sandy tore through New Jersey last year.
Christie is considered a possible 2016 presidential contender.

During the last presidential election, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney contemplated picking Christie as his running mate but ultimately chose Rep. Paul Ryan instead.
“Chris could easily become our nominee and save our party and help get this nation on the right track again,” Romney said Sunday on Meet the Press. “They don’t come better than Chris Christie.”
