The conservative public policy organization American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) has lost two more corporate members: General Motors and Walgreen Co.
The latest two defections, join several from earlier this month (HP, CVS, Best Buy, MillerCoors, and Deere & Co.), to bring the total to 30 massive American corporations that have ditched ALEC since advocates brought to light its support of controversial “Stand Your Ground” gun laws and voter identification laws.
The organization charges as much as $25,000 a year for a corporation’s membership dues, Bloomberg reports.
