3. Tensions are rising in Houston after a sheriff’s deputy was shot and killed at a gas station on Friday night. Several thousand people marched in Houston on Sunday in support of the deputy’s family and local law enforcement.

5. The tallest mountain in North America is getting a name change: after more than a century, Mount McKinley will be renamed Mount Denali, in honor of Alaska’s indigenous Athabascan people, who had always called it “Denali.”
