New York’s first openly gay member of Congress married his longtime partner over the weekend.
Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, a New York Democrat, married Randy Florke in a ceremony Saturday in the Hudson Valley, NBC News reported. The couple has been together for more than 20 years, and they have raised three children in their hometown of Cold Spring, N.Y.
Maloney, 47, is the second openly gay member of Congress to be married while in office, following former Rep. Barney Frank of Massachusetts in 2012. Maloney was elected to office in 2012.
He worked as a senior adviser in former President Bill Clinton’s administration before serving as a senior staff member to two Democratic governors in New York.
