San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors voted in favor of a nudity ban on Tuesday, ushering in a new era for the perpetually liberal city.
In a close 6-5 vote, the supervisors approved a ban on the exposure of “genitals, perineum, or anal region” in public, according to KNBC. Offenders risk a $100 fine, or a $500 fine and a year in jail for repeat violations.
The rule’s sponsoring supervisor Scott Wiener said that regular displays of nudity in his district, the Castro, had grown into a problem.
