Real-estate scion and murder suspect Robert Durst will be returning to Los Angeles to stand trial this summer for his alleged role in the 2000 slaying of his friend Susan Berman.
Los Angeles prosecutors announced Tuesday they have an agreement with Durst’s defense lawyers to extradite him from Louisiana, where he is jailed on federal weapons charges.
Durst, 72, was the subject of the hit HBO documentary series “The Jinx,” and is slated to plead guilty to the gun charges on Feb. 3.

The FBI nabbed him in New Orleans in March on a warrant for the Berman murder and found a .38-caliber Smith & Wesson in his hotel room that was illegal for him to have as a convicted felon. The agents also found marijuana and stacks of cash.
His arrest coincided with the last episode of “The Jinx,” which examined his links to the 1982 disappearance of his wife, Berman’s death 18 years later, and the 2003 dismemberment of a neighbor in Texas. The finale climaxed with Durst apparently blurting out on a hot microphone that he had “killed them all.” Durst has denied killing longtime confidant Berman, who was found dead in her Beverly Hills home on Christmas Eve, 2000.
