The operator of a well-known “revenge porn” website has agreed to plead guilty to hacking and identity theft charges, federal prosecutors in California announced Wednesday.
Under the terms of the deal, Hunter Moore, 28, admitted that he operated the website and and that he paid for nude images that were stolen from victims. He faces a mandatory minimum of two years in prison and a maximum sentence of seven years, with the possibility of $500,000 in fines and three years of supervised release. He will also be prohibited from using computer equipment without first notifying authorities.
FBI agents arrested Moore, of Woodland, Calif., and Charles Evens, of Studio City, Calif., without incident at their respective homes in January 2014.
