The GOP may be picking up some more women in Congress.
Two Republican women — Mia Love of Utah and Barbara Comstock of Virginia — secured their party’s nomination for Congress and will both advance to heavily contested battles in the upcoming midterm elections in November.
Love, former mayor of Saratoga Springs, won by a landslide at the GOP’s nominating convention Saturday with 78% of the vote. The GOP rising star, whose 2012 Republican National Convention appearance skyrocketed her national profile, easily trounced her primary opponent Bob Fuehr, who garnered about 22%.
