University of Missouri police said early Wednesday they have apprehended a suspect who allegedly posted threats to the campus on social media.
“Have apprehended suspect who used multiple accts to threat @Mizzou students,” R. Bowen Loftin, the outgoing chancellor of the university system’s flagship campus in Columbia, said on Twitter. “He was never physically near campus.”

Loftin and Tim Wolfe, the president of the University of Missouri, both resigned Monday after criticism of the administration’s response to a series of racial incidents on campus.
