Former Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann recently declared that the end is near – and it’s all thanks to President Barack Obama.
“We need to realize how close this clock is to getting towards the midnight hour,” the Republican firebrand and 2012 presidential candidate told radio host Jan Markell of the end of days. “The events have picked up such a pace and are going to continue it’s just like the Bible forewarned, in the last days it will be like the beginning of birth pangs. In my opinion, we are far beyond the beginning of birth pangs.”
Bachmann broadly argued that President Obama was bringing the rapture on with domestic policies like same-sex marriage, which the president has said he supports, and by not repelling radical terrorists enough — a classic GOP talking point, made her own with her unsubstantiated claim that the president is personally working to “lift up” terrorist agendas.
Bachmann, who sat on the House Intelligence Committee, slammed Obama’s Iranian nuclear deal in particular in the interview, following the president’s announcement that an international coalition had negotiated a deal to limit and supervise Iran’s nuclear program while thawing the terse relations — and sanctions — that have historically characterized Iran’s relationship with the West.
