This past February Sean O’Brien was shamed online for dancing in public. His photo was posted on the the message board 4-chan with the caption: “Spotted this specimen trying to dance the other week. He stopped when he saw us laughing.”
Twitter users launched a social media hunt to track him down using the hashtag #FindDancingMan in the hopes of inviting him to a huge dance party in Los Angeles.
Celebrities like Pharrell Williams and Moby promised to contribute music.

Dance Free Movement organized a dance party for O’Brien with almost 1,000 attendees at the Avalon nightclub. The event boasted appearances by Monica Lewinsky, comedian Damienne Merlina and a video message by Pharrell Williams. “It’s completely amazing. There’s so many good people out there in the world, and what did happen to me, it touched a lot of nerves.
