Kim Kardashian West has a new family member to keep up with! The reality-TV star and husband Kanye West welcomed their second child into the world on Saturday — and it’s a boy.
The happy parents confirmed the news on Kardashian West’s website.
“Kim Kardashian West and her husband, Kanye West, welcomed the arrival of their son this morning,” the page read. “Mother and son are doing well.”
Kardashian first revealed that they had a baby on the way back in June, in a tease that followed the mid-season finale of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” and the good news came on the heels offertility struggles.
“I still have hope, so I’m just going to keep on trying,” Kardashian told TODAY’s Matt Lauer in the spring. “Never say never.”
Persistence certainly paid off for the pair, but the pregnancy wasn’t an easy one for Kardashian.
She’d previously been diagnosed with placenta accreta, a high-risk condition that causes the placenta to embed deeply into the uterine wall.
Then, in late November, well into her final trimester, Kardashian had another setback in the form of the flu.
Her biggest concern hit just weeks before she gave birth. Doctors told her the baby was in the wrong position.
“I’ve surrendered to the placenta issues and actually haven’t been thinking too deeply about them lately,” the 35-year-old explained on her blog. “However, my latest concern is that my baby is breech, meaning he’s in the wrong position for childbirth. His head is still up and it’s supposed to be down. He was supposed to turn by 32 weeks.”
But shortly before the birth, Kardashian finally got some good news.
