Families tweet reactions to Zimmerman verdict

The families of George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin shared their reactions to the “not-guilty” verdict in the Zimmerman trial after it was announced Saturday evening.

Robert Zimmerman Jr., the defendant’s brother, shared their father’s thoughts via Twitter:

Message from Dad: “Our whole family is relieved”. Today… I’m proud to be an American. God Bless America! Thank you for your prayers!

Trayvon Martin’s mother and father also shared their thoughts on Twitter.

Mother Sybrina Fulton tweeted:

Lord during my darkest hour I lean on you. You are all that I have. At the end of the day, GOD is still in (cont) http://t.co/enQjZ3bZk2

Martin’s father, Tracy, shared a series of reactions on Twitter. His first:

God blessed Me & Sybrina with Tray and even in his death I know my baby proud of the FIGHT we along with all of you put up for him GOD BLESS

Zimmerman plead not-guilty in the case, saying he had acted in self-defense when he shot Martin.
