Republicans scored points for scheduling a deep bench of racially diverse speakers at their convention in Tampa just weeks ago, but the move does not seem to be translating into support from the Hispanic community being showered on GOP candidate Mitt Romney.
Actress Eva Longoria, a longtime Obama surrogate who now co-chairs the re-election campaign, has been on the stump for the president driving home that very idea that the Republican Party—Romney in particular—is not in step with Hispanic voters.
“Mitt Romney is on the wrong side of every issue that pertains to Latinos,” Longoria told msnbc’s Thomas Roberts Thursday. “He’s not exactly living in reality with the Latino community.”
