An “extremely dangerous” tornado collapsed an abandoned building and hit police headquarters Tuesday night in Mineral Wells, Texas, near Dallas, authorities told NBC News.

Police headquarters and an old mercantile building were also hit.
No injuries were reported in the immediate aftermath of the tornado, which touched down near a highway one mile west of town at 7:25 p.m. (8:25 p.m. ET) and headed straight for downtown, the weather service’s Fort Worth office said.
There was “so much damage there’s been no assessment,” a dispatcher for the Palo Pinto County Sheriff’s Office told NBC News. The twisters appeared to be the products of a severe thunderstorm system that spun off tornadoes across Texas and Oklahoma, The Weather Channel reported. Other tornadoes were spotted near Purcell and Lexington, Oklahoma, near Oklahoma City, and near Waxahachie, McCamey and Bakersfield in Texas, it said.
