Hillary Clinton is still far ahead of her Democratic presidential rivals, according to a new CNN/ORC national poll, despite a turbulent summer of controversy surrounding her email use while she was secretary of state.
The poll, released Monday, offers the latest indication that Clinton dominated last week’s Democratic debate — the first of the primary season. It found Clinton leading the field with 45% support from registered Democrats.
Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, meanwhile, remains her top competitor, with 29% support. In third place is Vice President Joe Biden, who could announce whether he’ll enter the presidential race within the next 48 hours. The survey, which has a margin of error of 5 percentage points, found Biden with 18% support.
