Facing a fundraising onslaught from Mitt Romney, President Obama is heading south today to raise money in Atlanta and Miami following top-dollar events Monday night in Boston. The President has been inoculating against Republican attacks on his handling of the economy as well as trying to paint his challenger as a ruthless businessman, even calling him an “outsourcer-in-chief” in new ads set to air in Virginia, Iowa, and Ohio.
And keeping in line with his “general specific plan” on immigration, Mitt Romney stayed specifically general on the Supreme Court’s immigration decision saying that he “would have preferred to see the Supreme Court give more latitude to the states, not less.” Perhaps his thinking is that if he never offers a specific opinion, he will never face a specific criticism.
The Fast and Furious war is heating up with Rep. Darrell Issa’s direct accusation that President Obama abused his power either by withholding information or by having his aides conspire with the Justice Department to cover up the failed gun-walking program.
