Congress is failing to do much good these days. But at least its members can be good Samaritans from time to time.
Two congressmen, one from California and the other from Texas, helped revive an unconscious airline passenger on Thursday during their flight from Washington, D.C. to Dallas-Fort Worth.
After the male passenger, who is in his 60s, was discovered to be unconscious, Democratic Rep. Raul Ruiz of California (who’s an emergency room physician) helped give the man oxygen, checked his vital signs and put a defibrillator on his chest, according to the NBC affiliate KXAS in Fort Worth, Texas.
Democratic Rep. Pete Gallego of Texas also helped out. He later tweeted:
