So, the President made a little news yesterday.
This morning we’ll hear more from President Obama and his evolution on gay marriage. The consequences of what the President said yesterday are varied. Many believe it will provoke a flood of money from gay supporters, but it could also provoke support from donors opposed to gay marriage. Black voters, whose support of marriage equality is less than that of the general population, aren’t likely to abandon the President, but it could affect their turnout at the polls.
Make no mistake, what the President said yesterday involved political risk. But it’s one that the President thinks he can handle, and it’s one he believes is worth fighting for.
