After a marathon night of voting on the floor of the Senate, a sleep-deprived Sen. Robert Casey, D-Pa., paid a visit to Weekends with Alex Witt to weigh in on President Obama’s recent trip to the Middle East.
“I think he accomplished what he wanted to accomplish…to reiterate the unshakable bond between Israel and the United States,” Casey said of the president Saturday. He also credited Obama with assisting the historic reconciliation between Israel and Turkey over the Israeli attack on a Turkish aid flotilla destined for the Gaza Strip.
As for the nuclear threat of Iran, Casey said the intelligence sharing on Iranian nuclear development has never been better, but that he “couldn’t speak to” any timeline for military action under consideration by the Israeli government.
