During testimony on Capitol Hill Wednesday morning, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton didn’t hold back when pressed by GOP senator Ron Johnson, a Tea Party favorite, about the faux-scandal over the Benghazi attacks.
After Johnson accused the administration of misleading the public by initially saying that the attacks developed out of popular protests, Clinton could no longer suppress her frustration.
“With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans,” said an exasperated Clinton. “Was it because of a protest, or was it because of guys out for a walk one night who decided they’d go kill some Americans? What difference, at this point, does it make? It’s our job to figure out what happened and do everything we can to prevent it from ever happening again, senator. Now, honestly, I will do my best to answer your questions about this. The fact is that people were trying, in real time, to get to the best information.”

Late Update, 2:25pm: Johnson responded to Clinton’s outburst in an interview with a Wisconsin radio station, Politico reported. “I wasn’t trying to get under her skin, I was just trying to get a relatively simple question answered, which she didn’t really want to answer,” Johnson said. “I’m not trying to be obnoxious here, I’m just trying to get the answers I believe the American people deserve to hear,” he added. “It’s been four months.”
