Eleven days to campaign and access to the candidates is at a premium but the tack each campaign is taking couldn’t be more different.
Access is outright unattainable from the Romney campaign which has eschewed any further interviews with candidate Mitt Romney. Gaining access to Gov. Romney has devolved into shouts at the governor from the rope line. This pathetic volley is especially comical as reporters’ questions have some gravity; specifically will Mitt Romney continue to back Indiana Republican Senate Candidate Richard Mourdock after Mourdock’s controversial statements about rape and abortion? Does Romney also support his surrogate Gov. John Sununu’s remarks that Gen. Colin Powell endorsed President Obama because of race?
The Romney campaign insists there are no interviews scheduled and thus we all remain in the dark on more of the governor’s positions. This has not gone unnoticed, even among conservatives. Last night even Bill O’Reilly and Laura Ingraham lamented that Governor Romney won’t sit down with them either.
