The public is losing faith in Gov. Chris Christie as he continues to remain embroiled with the George Washington Bridge scandal. According to three new polls, Christie’s approval rating has fallen to a new low.
A Fairleigh Dickinson University PublicMind poll shows more voters disaproving the governor at 44% than voters approving Christie at 41%. Christie’s popularity has gone down 20 points from October, just before the Republican governor was re-elected to a second term.
Tuesday’s number has fallen drastically in the past year. After superstorm Sandy devastated the shores and communities of the Garden State, FDU polling found Christie’s approval rating at 77%.
Meanwhile, the majority of Chris Christie’s constituents no longer find their governor “trustworthy,” according to another new poll released Tuesday. A new Rutgers-Eagleton poll found 23% — an all time low — of voters using the word “trustworthy” to describe the embattled Republican governor.
