The Republican Party has gone off one cliff, according to a new NBC News/WSJ poll, which shows that the party’s favorable/unfavorable rating now stands at 30%/45%. Their favorable rating has gone down six points from 36%/43% which was their standing right before the election. The Democratic Party currently has a 44%/35% rating. Furthermore, when participants were asked to describe the Republican Party, 65% offered a negative comment, including more than half of Republicans. Greg Sargent of The Washington Post points to another new Pew poll, that confirms that the majority views the Democratic Party as in line with their priorities on many issues and how government should solve this fiscal cliff battle.
